The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) announces Maureen Collins Pelletier, BSN, RN, OCN® as the 2024 Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) of the Year. Pelletier, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, is Sr. Manager of Key Accounts at Foundation Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.

Pelletier is being recognized for achievements in oncology nursing practice, nursing service, and promotion of certification. 

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) has named Joan Rhoa, BSN, RN, OCN®, CBCN® the 2024 Certified Breast Care Nurse (CBCN®) of the Year. Rhoa is Clinical Nurse IV in the Women’s Center at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. 

Rhoa is being recognized for her achievements in breast care nursing practice, nursing service, and promotion of certification. 

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) announces Jennifer Peterson MSN, RN, OCN®, BMTCN® as the 2024 Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN®) of the Year. Peterson is a Clinical Practice Education Specialist at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. 

Peterson is being recognized for her achievements in blood and marrow transplant nursing practice, nursing service, and promotion of certification. 

The Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) has named Anne Kolenic, DNP, APRN, AOCNS® as the 2024 Advanced Oncology Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (AOCNS®) of the Year. Kolenic is Network SCC Lead Educator, Ambulatory Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland, Ohio. 

Kolenic is being recognized for her achievements in advanced oncology nursing practice, nursing service, and promotion of certification.

Courtney MacLeod, RN, BSN, OCN of Portland, Maine has been elected to the ONCC Board of Directors.  

MacLeod is a Nursing Supervisor at New England Cancer Specialists where she participates on several workplace committees related to safety, quality, operations, clinical leadership, and the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) recertification.

ONCC will raise its certification test fees January 1, 2023, by $4. The new test fees will be:

  • ONS/APHON member - $300 
  • Nonmember - $420

The nominal fee increase is needed to help offset increased expenses associated with providing ONCC’s high-quality certification examinations.
